Live chat

The conversation a guest has after the lead form, including takeover.

After the lead form, a web-chat guest lands in the conversation. This is preview state Chat on Website Widgets. There is no extra merchant route.

What it is

The panel can show Starting your chat… while the thread opens. Messages are marked AI, Team, or as the visitor. Composer placeholder Ask me anything.... Default agent line: “Hey! 👋 How can I help you today?”

The launcher is the round (or square) button on the site. It shows when webchat or texting is enabled, and it toggles the panel. Launcher copy Chat Live With Me.

Takeover

When a person takes the thread, the guest sees A team member has taken over. On the merchant side that thread is in Conversations: AI Active — Take Over / You're in control — Re-enable AI.

Typical workflow

  1. Keep Webchat Overlay on and Initial AI Message on if you want the greeting.
  2. Preview Chat at 75–150% zoom, desktop and mobile.
  3. From Conversations, take over a real thread and confirm the guest sees the Team tag.
