Assistants

Request activation or train an Inbox assistant’s name and instructions.

Inbox settings → assistants are not a sidebar item. New assistant is /inbox-settings/assistants/new. Edit is /inbox-settings/assistants/[id]. Open them from Command Center Request activation / Configure assistant / Configure agent.

What it is

There is no self-serve create for a brand-new assistant. Request AI assistant asks GetDandy to activate Inbox Pro / web widget for the location. Edit is Train {name}: name, system instructions, and a simulated preview.

Open the screen

From Command Center, click Request activation or hover an assistant card and Configure agent. You can also click Configure next to AI Assistant on Website Widgets → Webchat Settings.

Train an existing assistant

Fields:

  • Agent name
  • System instructions
  • Save assistant / Cancel

Typical workflow

  1. Add knowledge for the location.
  2. Request activation if the roster is empty.
  3. After the agent appears, Configure agent. Set name and extra instructions (hours, tone, what not to promise).
  4. Save assistant. Test the live widget separately; the simulator is not live AI.
