Configure website widgets

Webchat, texting, header buttons, preview, and the embed snippet.

Communications → Website Widgets (/website-widgets) is marked New in the sidebar. Title Website Widgets. Subtitle: “Add AI-powered buttons to your website. Customers can chat, text, or call your AI agent directly.” There is no add-on gate.

What it is

This is the merchant designer for the guest embed. Guest-facing states are documented next:

It is not Inbox settings → Channels and not /channels.

Open the screen

Click Website Widgets. Save Changes is global. The open-site icon is Open configured website. Loader: Loading widgets….

Configure & Preview

Widget Buttons — “Choose which buttons appear on your website”:

  • Webchat Overlay — “Classic live chat — name and number form, then the conversation starts”
  • SMS texting widget — “SMS opt-in — visitors request a text instead of live chat (only one widget mode at a time)”
  • Text Us Button
  • Call Us Button
  • Book Online Button

Webchat Overlay and SMS texting widget are mutually exclusive.

AI Agent Settings: Business Name (read-only) · AI Agent Phone Number with an AI Agent chip.

Live Preview: desktop/mobile · Zoom 75–150% · states Closed / Form open / Chat.

bookOnlineUrl is saved in the config but has no merchant field on this screen.

Webchat Settings

Subtabs settings / appearance.

settings: Widget Name · Website URL · Domain · AI Assistant + Configure → /inbox-settings/assistants/{id} · Welcome Greeting · Initial AI Message (toggle).

appearance: Chat title (max 30) · Text Us & Call Us Button Style (Button Background Color / Button Text Color) · Chat button color · Chat button icon color · Chat header & accent color · Chat header text color · Your message bubble color · Your message text color · Chat panel background · Launcher shape Round / Square / Rounded square · Launcher size Small / Medium / Large · Screen position Left / Right.

Integration

  • One quick step to go live · Add the widget script to your website — “Paste this code just before the closing </head> tag on every page”

    • pass: Integration working — all checks passed.
    • fail/warn: Needs attention — review the checks below.
  • Open live site · Copy embed code

Launch Progress also offers a chat snippet (before </body>). Prefer this Integration snippet for the live site, and keep the URL in sync with Apply URL.

Typical workflow

  1. Turn on Webchat Overlay or SMS texting widget, then the header buttons you want.
  2. Set greeting and assistant on Webchat Settings.
  3. Match colors and launcher on appearance. Check the live preview.
  4. Apply URL, copy the snippet, paste it on every page, Verify integration.
  5. Save Changes.
